GETTING STARTED
INTRODUCTION
Hello and welcome! Eternal Saga is an intermediate to advanced, play-by-post, fantasy roleplay that is set in in a fantasy world that resembles medieval times. There are a few different settings or locations, each as different as the last. These locations are home to competing and ally kingdoms that house some interesting secrets. The world is riddled with interesting characters, factions, and more. Another interesting element that this world contains is magical or mythical elements such as vampires and werecreatures, but these creatures face the daunting task of keeping their true nautres hidden from the world and avoiding executions performed by specialized hunters.
Before you being a journey through this fantasy world we've built, you must read through the Knight's Handbook. This section contains all of the information you will need to know with regards to player conduct, character rules, roleplay rules & restrictions, and rules regarding contacting the staff. This information is not made to steer you away from joining the site.
Rather, these rules and guidelines are put in place so that we as staff can protect ourselves as well as you, our players. These rules and guidelines are also in place in order to help you, our players, understand how to participate and play the game. Please be aware that the violation of our rules will result in punishment equivalent to the violation.
REGISTRATION
Now that you've read through the Knight's Handbook and have decided to join us, the first thing you'll need to do is register an account. When you create an account, make sure that you sign up using a name that is sensible and doesn't contain profanity. Feel free to use the middle and/or last names of your characters. After you register your account please be sure to check your email so that you may verify your account.
CHARACTER CREATION
Once you have successfully registered, created and verified a ProBoards account, you will be required to create your first character. Our site does not contain a location for your character's profile on your account, as such it is required that you create a thread with the title of your character's chosen name in the Registry board, click on the Character Sheet thread. Here, you will need to copy the code listed under the character sheet. Once you've copied the character sheet code, you will leave the Character Sheet thread. Remaining in the Registry board, you will then click on the button titled "Create Thread". Be sure to title this new thread with your character's name and then paste the copied code from earlier into the box for your post's body. Now that you've done all of those steps, you are free to begin working on your character's information.
Following the template provided as best you can, fill out everything in a detailed and appropriate manner. Be careful that you type in the correct areas or your application will become distorted or jumbled and you'll have to start over.It is best that you do not 'Preview' the app as it usually messes up the code. If you feel as though you need help, please pose your questions in the Inquiries board or contact a staff member. Once you've put all of your character's information into the application, hit the button titled "create thread" and this will post the first version of your character application on the board.
After everything is ready and you think your character is good enough to be looked at, contact a staff member and ask them to take a look at your character. It will be approved or denied. If or when your character is approved, your work is done and you may begin role playing with your character.

Once you've done that, simply type the information you wish to post into the blank box for you to type in and then click the button titled "create thread" at the bottom of the box where you typed your information and this will post your work to the board.
In the event that you are posting a new thread, please follow the posting key and mark your topic accordingly!

Posting Key
Open - (O) | This is included in a thread's title when it is open for anyone and everyone to join. This means that there can and will be multiple members role playing in the same thread, so a posting order must be established. |
Private - (P) | This is included in a thread's title when it is for members who have been specified out of character. This means that unless you have been invited to join the thread marked as Private, you have no business posting in this thread. Most often this type of thread will have names listed in the title as well as being marked Private. |
Finished/Complete | This will be included in a thread's title when it has been finished by all who are posting in it. This is a way of letting the staff know that this thread needs to be locked and moved. |
(WIP)/WIP | This is included in a topic title when the person posting it hasn't completed whatever information is inside. This is used only for posting a character and/or guild application. Members should never spot save on posts. If you don't have the time or motivation to post, then don't. |
